Dean Rapid Response SC Media Requests
for Letters to the Editors
Now!
Dean Rapid Response Network
is a nationwide group of volunteers who act as "first responders"
to media coverage of Howard Dean. The network seeks out both positive
and negative stories about Dean, and distributes Action Alerts to
the volunteer base. Volunteers respond with letters, emails, and
phone calls to the appropriate news sources. Our goal is to ensure
that all media coverage of Dean, from local to national, is accurate
and fair.
For more information regarding South Carolina join the Dean
RR SC Group.

Dean Flash Mob
1:15 pm or so until 3 pm or so on Sun. Feb 1st
320 Harbison Blvd.
Columbia
We're down to wire. We need to be seen. I need people with me at
the Dean Mob. Same place & time. 320 Harbison Blvd. (Medical
bldg. pkg. lot next to Chick-fil-A) 1:15 pm until 3:00 or so. There
is a Bank of America across the street. If we have enough people
we can cover both directions. When we get a positive response, and
the light is red, we give them a bumper sticker and a Common Sense
brochure. It's only a little bit of your time. This is not the time
to leave it to the other guy. You can run your errands when we're
done. You can canvass when we're done. Gov. Dean needs you to be
seen.

Laptop Video Outreach in Columbia,SC and
Beyond
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday - Feb 1,2,and 3rd
If you have a laptop to help Dean, please contact me immediately!
This link has an excellent flash-video, which I think could REALLY
make a difference for voters. http://home.pacbell.net/dyewrks/gendean/genDean2.html
I think it will play REALLY well in the African American community
and with youth. So that means take it to the neighborhoods near
Benedict and Allen, and out to Columbia Mall.
What needs to happen:
1) Decide if you can bring your laptop and volunteer anytime between
now and the primary OR loan it to another volunteer.
2) Download this video to your laptop.
3) Contact me so I can coordinate people and places and times.
PLEASE get in touch with me ASAP if you can help! Try 919-672-6566
(cell). Thank you!!!

Host a House Meeting - Discuss Dean
with Family, Friends, and Neighbors
Ongoing
Host a house meeting in your area.
House Meetings are a vital tool for reaching South Carolina voters
and spreading Governor Dean's message. The meetings are hosted by
Dean supporters who invite their friends and neighbors to their
home. Generally lasting an hour, the meetings are an opportunity
for attendees to share their thoughts about which direction they
would like this country to go, to learn more about Howard Dean,
and to learn what they can do to get involved with the Dean for
America campaign.

Canvassing
in Spartanburg
We will be canvassing in Spartanburg County every Saturday until
the Feb 3 primary. We will go out Saturday afternoons and hit known
Dem primary voters. Much of it will be driving as we are concentrating
on the Known Dems. If you have any time to spare and this is more
workable for you than the York or Union efforts, please come join
us.
Please help canvass SC somewhere. We NEED to win SC on Feb 3.
My email is wallacehughes@alltel.net
Thanks

Yard Sign Creation and Dispersal
Ongoing throughout South Carolina
We need Yard Signs to publicize the Feb. 3rd South Carolina Primary
and Howard Dean. Here’s what we need:
- Yard signs that say: “VOTE FEB 3rd”. If you have
room feel free to add “Dem Primary”. Would you be
willing to make some? Or host a Yard Sign Making party? We will
hopefully be getting some Dean signs also or we can make them.
- If you know of someone who makes buttons or has a button maker
please email
us. It would be a great addition.
- Distribution Centers: Would you like to volunteer your house
as a place to store and distribute signs in your area?
- Yard Sign Distributors: Would you be willing to pick up signs
from your local distribution center and drop them off at people’s
homes who have requested them?
Please email
us with how you might like to help.
